David Larkin is a musicologist based at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Originally from Ireland, he studied at Dublin and Cambridge before joining the University of Sydney in 2010. He specialises in nineteenth-century Germanic music, especially that of Liszt, Wagner and Richard Strauss. He has lectured on three continents, and is also the author of a number of scholarly articles. David has studied piano to diploma level, and sings regularly with Sydney Philharmonia and Sydney Chamber Choirs. He has given public talks for the Wagner Society of NSW, Musica Viva, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Series.
