Liz Nielsen is a founder and Life Patron of Pinchgut Opera.
Pinchgut Opera, Sydney's surprising opera company, was founded in 2002 to produce all those rare gems that are not on the main stream repertoire.
Pinchgut Opera believes that the music is the most important element of an opera.
It performs at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place where the music is able to have a powerful intimate effect on the audience.
Pinchgut Opera believes its role is to bring together the musicians, soloists, chorus and orchestra, with members with the audience. This company thrives on the excellence of its musicians and the loyalty of its audience.
As former Chair of the Pinchgut Opera Board, Liz oversaw the creation of productions from the director's and conductor's initial concepts, through to rehearsals and then to performances. Connecting with the audience and seeing their joy and appreciation has been very rewarding for her and her role as Life Patron will ensure these connections are maintained with the friends of Pinchgut.
